View Full Version : Pictures in Received Email Messages with SP2

I've just installed SP2 on two computers. Most everything
seems to be working, but Outlook Express insists
on "protecting" me by not downloading pictures contained
in incoming email messages. I can click on a line each
time that says "Click here to download pictures", but I'd
certainly like to make that my default choice for all
future email messages. Do I have to change my overall
security settings in order to avoid this "warning"?

Jim;
Open Outlook Express
Click Tools
Click Options
Click Security tab
Uncheck "Block images..."
Once you do that it is possible spammers will now know the address the
spam was sent is active.
Now your computer will request the HTML from the sources whether or
not you like it.
I personally prefer to decide which E-mail requests the images to help
keep spammers from knowing the account is live.

Jupiter, thank you for your prompt and enlightening
reply. I'll leave things set as they are for a few days
until I get a better feeling for how many of my messages
contain pictures that I want to see. My ISP does a very
good job of blocking spam, so that isn't too much of an
issue for me.
