Hi,

I've recently run the XP SP2 upgrade. After doing this I am unable to log
in to a web site that has a .net Passport sign-in. It seems to authenticate
properly and then it brings me to a page that says "The page cannot be
displayed." I have tried entering what I know is an incorrect password the
site indicates I have entered an incorrect password which suggests to me it
is accepting the user name and password.

Is there some security setting somewhere that got changed as a result of the
SP2 update?

Thanks,

David

Check your settings for cookies in IE's Tools>Internet Options>Privacy
section. Make sure they are not set too high.

I have tried lowering the settings to the lowest setting and I've cleared
out all cookies and temporary files.

I'm stumped.

Did you try adding that site to the trusted sites zone?

Check your Cookie handling settings, IE, Tools, Internet Options
Privacy, Advanced. I recommend users "Tic" the "Override Automatic
Cookie Handling" then set First Party Cookies = Accept and Third
Party Cookies = Block.
Also look in your "Cookies" folder under your profile and delete any
containing the string passport.
Finally, bring up a Passport site. Click the Username to recall saved
entries, Left click the name to highlight then press the DEL key.
Answer Yes to remove the Username and Password. Then retype
your Username and Password to reload.
