Hi --
NOt having any luck finding an answer for this. One night
I turned on my Dell and up popped this message in DOs
mode: "Invalid boot diskette" -- Insert boot diskette
into A:"
I've tried using my XP upgrade disk, but I get caught in
a loop saying Can't find original operating system (I
upgraded from ME to XP Pro last January), but when I
insert the ME CD, it doesn't work.
Now what ? Thanks.

Do you happen to have a floppy in the drive? Have you tried pulling it out
and booting the machine normally?

Check your bios and see if the floppy is the only boot device. Then check
that your hd is still getting recognized.
