Help, Have huge data base with names & addresses from old
computer, can copy onto new computer with XP and work in
the database.
My problem came up when I went to print mailing labels,
program didn't recognize the database works file as a
valid works file.
Any way around this other than retyping all the names &
addresses in new file???
Thanks for any help

Depends on the application that the data was originally made with, if it
runs in XP I dont see why you wouldnt be able to use the file.

Hi, Shaylee.

Do you have Microsoft Works installed in your WinXP computer?

Works is an application, not a part of Windows itself, and normally must be
purchased separately. However, many computer makers include Works in the
"bundle" with the computer, so many buyers assume that every computer has
Works installed - but most of them don't. (Many new cars come with air
conditioning; if yours did not, you have to buy it and add it on.)

If your new computer "bundle" did not include MS Works (or the Works Suite),
then you'll have to buy it.
