The easiest way to do this if you are a novice is to use
the option in windows messenger. There you can do
application sharing, remote assistance, voice chat, video
chats and so on. Good luck.

And be bombarded with spam messages all day.

What you are describing is another service altogether. The messenger you are
talking about is the messenger used by system admin to send messages to work
stations. Windows Messenger is a chat service which includes remote
assistance requests.

Nope. Windows Messanger ( The Instant Message Client ) has a feature
to send Help request to another user for Remote Assistence.

Somehow bud you are missing the meaning of the post and left out Donald
Link's post in the middle. He stated and this is the quote "And be
bombarded with spam messages all day." To which I stated he was confusing
the two Messengers, one is a network Messenger, which is exploited for spam
messages if you do not either shut it down or use a router/firewall to deny
access to your PC, the other is for internet chatting etc. I use MSN/Windows
Messenger often, including video, sound and remote assistance. I do know the
difference.
