xp wont install

I have tried some more Ram and it still comes up with the
same problems, I think something odd is happening between
the cd drive and the hard drive possibly a controller
problem but what i dont know i'm not an expert.
Any ideas any1???

Check the cables for any nicks, cuts, or exposed wires.
Try another CD Rom.
Check to make sure the processor is not overheating.
