This is pretty serious. When i log on it shows my
backround and then nothing happens. It shows no start
menu no icons or anything else for that matter. The only
way i got things running is to press ctrl+shift+esc and
run a new program and i type in something random. Usually
it is c:/ then everything loads and then it pops up an
error that says something with a really really long
address.

Hi,

Hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete and end process on explorer.exe. Leave the Task Manager
open. Once the Taskbar refreshes, go to File/New Task (Run) and type in:
explorer.exe

If the behavior doesn't change, run the repair options, listed here:
