All,

We have a native Win2K3 Domain with 2K and XP clients. The 2K machines logon
to the domain all within 10 seconds (even the first time when creating a
profile).

The XP machines on our network take about 2 1/2 minutes or more to logon the
first time thast paticular userid logs onto the machine. We have our DNS
setup correctly. I know that can be one of the leading factors. We have also
applied the "LOGON" Group Policy that tell XP to wait for the network to
initialize first.

Does anybody have any tips on getting XP to logon faster or what the problem
can be?

I've never seen an XP computer log on that slowly unless the DNS settings
were wrong. Do the XP clients look ONLY at the AD DNS server?

off of 2000) and this isnt making it look too good :)
