Are you using CD Emulation software? Try removing it or finding a new version.

I also had the same problem with Battlefield 1942 and Raven Shield as well.
They would not work under SP2 at all. If SP2 was removed however, they
worked fine.

I formatted my system and reinstalled XP (patching it to SP2) and
Battlefield 1942 worked fine until I installed Daemon Tools (3.33). This
would cause the same BSOD again on my brand new windows installation. I
restored the system to before Daemon and tried BF1942 again and experienced
zero problems.

Updating to Daemon 3.47 Seems to solve the problem.
I think it might have something to do with the 'stealth' drivers that Daemon
loads to enable the virtual drives.

I am using Alcohol52% CD emulation.

Sounds like it might be the same problem. so i'll try a removing it.
