View Full Version : Windows SP2 Security refuses to stop monitoring firewall!

I use Norton Firewall (Internet Security) and Whenever I turn my pc on I get
the standard notification that my firewall is off. I have to click
reccomendations, then click DO NOT MONITOR and I then also go into the side
menu and unclick the firewall box. I have looked at the firewall menu and
have it turned off and I don't see anywhere else to tell SP2 Security to STOP
bugging me about the firewall. Every time I log on, I get the notice. I
suppose I could: A) ignore it, B) use both firewalls (I have already had
atleast one conflict when I tried it (woth a microsoft product, lol) or C)
uninstall SP2 (I don't thinks so!)

Help!

Hi

If the "Change the Way Security Center Notifies Me" doesn't stick
when you reboot, you can do the following:

To "solve" this problem, you can disable the Security Center service.

Start/Run --> services.msc

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.

Open your Control Panel, then double-click the Security Center icon.
In the left side, click on the link titled: "Change the way Security Center
alerts me". Next, uncheck the Firewall Alert Setting, then click OK.
