So I've been messing around trying to get all of sp2 off my computer and let
it redownload. I turn on my computer this morning and it starts downloading
but it seems to be stuck at 33%. It did this the couple times I tried
yesterday too. Also, I removed all the "hotfixes" in the add/remove programs
thing that had the word "sp2" on the end of them. There are still some
"hotfixes" in there but they just say "xp". I don't know if that stuff is
related to my problem but can someone help? Thanks.

Have you tried using a download manager?

The hotfixes were installed prior to your attempt to install SP-2 and
are not related to the problem.
The reference to SP2 only means they will be replaces by SP-2.
Step 5 on this link should delete what is already downloaded:

Follow the Service Pack Installation checklist to install SP-2:

Well you really shouldn't have removed those hotfixes. They were not
installed as part of the SP2 upgrade. Those are SP1 hotfixes that were
ear marked to go into SP2 once it came out. It was a poor choice of
labeling by MS in that respect, but they are needed if you don't have
SP2 installed.
Why not bypass automatic update and either download the full version,
266 MB, from:
Download and Deploy Service Pack 2 to Multiple Computers
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2predl.mspx
Or order the CD free from MS:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default810.mspx
Or pick up a free CD at Staples or Office Depot, or get one on the cover
of recent PC magazines. Installing from the CD is probably or the full
version is probably a better idea anyway.
