View Full Version : Now this is really strange for Windows XP

Everyday when I first turn on my computer instead of getting the main
screen with icons I get a blank screen. I then have to boot up in the
safe mode and go back one day to a precious restore point.

If I turn my computer off for a few hours then turn it back on it boot
up with no problems. If I boot up my computer the next day I have this
problem.

I've checked my hard drive for viruses and have reinstalled Windows XP
(with a new registry).

Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem?

Regards Brian

Hi Brian,

From the sounds of it, I'd suspect a hardware problem (possibly the video
card). If you can swap in a spare card and/or other parts, this could
confirm it. If not, you may want to have the hardware tested.
