Thank you for all your replies..
To make it clearer..
I had Win XP Home edition that came with the laptop,
later I upgraded to Win XP Pro that came from a friend of
mine who sold me one of his software programs and has
special regsitration with Microsoft, he was able to
download a copy of Win XP Pro from the internet and put
it on a CD and gave me the activation Nos so I was able
to activate it..

on the new hard drive, I want to start fresh, I do not
want to transfer anything..

So I guess what you are saying is that I can install Win
XP fron the CD I have, call Microsoft and activate it..!?

thanks..
MK

After you install, if you cannot activate by internet, you will have to by
phone.
