Folder Defaults

My question has to do with folder defaults in the "Save As.." dialog box

When I open the "My Pictures" Folder, I get the "Thumbnails" view as the
default when all other folders outside of the My Pictures tree give the
"list" view as the default.

Is there anyway I can get the My Pictures tree of folders to default to
a "list" view or do I have to move (hundreds of folders, literally) to a
non-picture tree of folders?

Thanks for any help.... (but I can guess as to what the answer will
be....)
