MSN Messenger 6.2 message alerts etc.

Hi Guys,

This is my last hope as I have searched and searched the
Internet for help on this. Basically all of a sudden my
MSN Messenger 6.2 stopped displaying alert windows when a
contact sends me a message, also the alert box that shows
when a contact signs will display but not until after
about 5 minutes after the contact actually signed in.
This is very annoying, I have tried uninstalling
messenger, reinstalling it, manually removing its
settings from the registry and I cant think of anything
else to do.

Please someone help me with this...
