I've just uninstalled sp2.

I have my own virus software, firewall and popup blockers. As soon as I
installed sp2 I started having conflicts with all three, even when the sp2
firewall, virus program and popups were disabled. No matter how I configured
them, it was a total nightmare.

After uninstalling, all is well. I hope MS is not going to make further
updates reliant on this service pack.

This is rather strange. After installation of SP2, I experienced a huge
boost in OE and IE performance. I have always kept up with all updates
and checked for spyware, keyloggers, worms, you name it. I believe there
were conflicts in some of the prior patches which degraded performance.

I am happy, too bad your experience was not what you expected. I think
that different machines show different outcomes.
