how do you find out what decoder is on your system
my dvd player does not work but it did at one time
now I get a decoder message

Reinstalling your DVD Decoder is always a very good place to start.
PowerDVD and WinDVD are two examples of DVD Decoders.

Hi Dave,
Click Start | Run | and type 'DVDUPGRD /Detect' without quotes and then
press ok. This should list the DVD decoder installed.
NOTE: When you install XP, DVD decoding does not come as standard. This site
should explain you everything.
