While scanning for viruses my anti virus says it has
identified a file in this directory:
C:/Windows/system32/chdlmkl.dll it said the file had a
type of back door Trojan virus and had to be removed to
the virus vault. But it wouldn't move. Each time I tried
it cited that another user or application was using it. So
I searched for the file above to see if there were any
other files with the same name, there were not. And as I
find out. you can delete files you find in the search
window. So I did, and it deleted to the recycle bin, then
deleted it from there. Now when I restart my taskbar and
quick launch disappears or is there but unfunctional, when
you put pointer on it, it turns to hour glass. I have
searched everywhere online for this file with no results.
Please email me if you have a solution to my XP dilemma.

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this. There
may still be a part of the malware active on your system.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
