I downloaded the windows update sp2 patch, and right
afterwards, it rebooted over and over, claiming an error
with drivers. I tried the "last config that worked" that
wouldn't work either. It simply kept rebooting itself. I
finally had to go into safe mode, and do a system restore.

You may want to warn people about this.

People were/are warned right on the Windows Update page "what to know
before you install SP2" and in these groups and just about everywhere else.
Basically, it's important to make sure your drivers are up to date and that
there is no spyware/virus infection present and that some older software may
not work.
Also a good defrag before and after helps.

Well, I usually download my updates automatically, so I
didnt get to read about it first. I usually trust what is
put out there, and really didnt expect it. My fault for
not reading first. Still, there are people silly like me,
who install auto.
