i can not seem to set explorer (ie 6.0) or
windows xp home to remember my login/ user name
and /or password.
(i think this is not the same as autocomplete, is it?,
as autocomplete seems to work on web addresses)

when i enter a site usually a secure site i have to always retype my
username.
for regularly visited sites.

type over and over and over, you get the picture...

my friends' computer remembers my logins, and my computer does not.

he doesn't know how it got set on his??!!
we are both novices.

please advise the correct settings in
detail so my computer types or completes my login name,

and ,

as i am a novice and need really detailed instructions.

i am a real dummy.

thanks in advnace,

Hi Robert -

One way to fix this problem is by enabling IE to use cookies however, using
them can be unsafe. To enable cookies do the following:
1. Open up Internet Explorer and select Tools -> Internet Options
2. Select the Privacy tab and click the Edit button
3. In the address bar, type the web site and click Allow.
