The Devil Within SP2

I installed WinXP SP2 and it screwed up some apps so I
uninstalled it and now i have two new problems:

1) my System Restore utility won't even open - I get a
error when I click on the system restore tab and it closes
the app.

2) whenever my computer is in stand-by mode it won't come
out. The screen stays black and the keyboard is
unresponsive (pushing the Caps Lock or Num Lock keys won't
toggle the lights on the keyboard)

any ideas?

For system restore check in services.msc. It should be started and set
to automatic. If that is the case then reinstall system restore.

Click Start | Run and type:
"rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf"

Have the Windows installation CD handy if it needs it.
