Hello all,
Is there anyway to reinstall Windows XP Professional SP1 over an existing
installation replacing the current settings with the preconfigured (install
defaults) settings?
I am having problems with 'security' and IIS/ASP.NET. I want to do a fresh
install but do not want to have to reinstall every application. This would
take days, which I don't have.
Any command-line setup switches I can use?
Thanks!

Think you're stuck. It's not reversible since it does not save a previous
configuration. Is SYSTEM RESTORE an option for you?

No, due to the fact I had it turned off. (Causing problems with my
development environment)

Yes, by doing a repair install from a supported slipstreamed network setup,
or by creating an unsupported slipstreamed CD from the excellent web site by
Justin Wojas.
Click on or copy and paste the link below on the finer points of creating a
bootable XP CD with integrated updates.

if using the web based newsgroup.

You will still need to apply any updates not included in the custom XP
slipstreamed CD.
