View Full Version : Change the REGISTERED TO name?

I just got a brand new IBM laptop from our IS Department. It was set-up for
another employee and at the last minute it ended up going to me. I'd like
to change the "registered to" name that I see in the System Properties under
the General tab from his name to mine. Everytime I bring up new software,
it shows his name and I'd just as soon have mine there. I'm sure there is
some file I can edit to fix this.

Thanks.

I've asked this before but was never clear on the answer. Does this change
the registered name on ALL the software installed or only XP?

Only XP. New software installs should pick up the changed information.
Some old installs, might, but I wouldn't bet on it.
