XP SP2 Stops Responding

I have loaded SP2 on several machines with no problem, but MY machine stops
responding in the same place everytime I try to install. The program becomes
non-responsive while backing up the registry. I have used Ad Aware to remove
mal-ware and all other programs are off. There are no messages in the Event
Logs that shed any light on the problem. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Does your computer have a prescott processor?
