I installed XP SP2, but my company indicates it should be
unistalled. Can I just uninstall safely? Will I need to
reinstall SP1?

Someone at your company (IT Dept?) told you sp2 should be uninstalled, but
can't tell you if it's safe to do so? If that's the case, I would question
their reason for the uninstall request. If they know sp2 needs to be
uninstalled for company programs to work or such, then they should also know
that it is safe to uninstall sp2. If they don't know that it is safe to
unistall sp2 then they don't know that it should be uninstalled either.
Never-the-less, it is safe to uninstall sp2 via add/remove programs. You
will not need to reinstall sp1.

Is this on a computer you use at work? If so, it's their machine
and their instructions should be followed, whether or not you, I,
or anyone else agrees.

On the other hand, if this is your personal machine you use at
home, in my view their advice is very poor and I would *not* do
as they say.

Yes.

No.
