Hello all -
beyond the fact that after SP2 was installed the system
booted OK and everything *looks* OK, what can I check to make
sure all is as it should be?

I found the file svcpack.log and it starts out with the following
warning:
"Service Pack started with following command line:
/s:c:\temp2\win2k\i386
***

"Failed to copy some or all of the files necessary for integrated
install.Please check that:
a) No network or copy errors occurred during the integration process
b) The format of the destination directory is correct."

ALSO errors like this:

"371.214: UpdateMonitoredListFailed WithError 0x6b5
371.705: PFE2: Per File Exceptions will not be used.
374.739: GetCatVersion: Failed to retrieve version information from
C:\WINDOWS\System32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\wmerrenu.cat
with error 0x57 374.749: GetCatVersion: Failed to retrieve version
information from C:\WINDOWS\wmerrenu.cat with error 0x80092004"

Am I to assume despite these errors the install was successful?
Thanks,
Dave

Check here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sp2_whattoknow.mspx

Check Ad/Remove programs in Control Panel, Click "Show Updates".

Allan/Andre,
thanks for the info.
Everything is in place. I'm henceforth assuming
everything is good until I see something obviously
to the contrary -

If you can get your computer to boot and run at all, and don't
have major problems with programs, the installation was successful.

Look in Control Panel - System. If the General page refers to 'Service
Pack 2' it is installed

Also check if the Security Center and Windows Firewall components in Control
Panel are functioning.
