Hello everyone,
This is just a post to let everyone know what i have found out about my hp
4110 all-in-one. It worked just fine in 98se, but has given me fits with xp
from day one. All features would work except the scanner. Seems to be a
conflict with wia service and the hp director software. I've downloaded the
scrubber, the additional software from the website, try running it compatable
with 98, just installing the drivers and not the program, nothing worked, .
But anyway, what i have found out that works for me is after the all in one
software has been loaded, and prior to shutting down the computer for the
night, I turn the printer off. After start of windows, I noticed with the
printer connected but powered down, the wia service starts right up, no delay
of drives on my computer, no lock up's everything works fine. When I turn on
the printer, xp picks it right up since I have already identified it thru
install of software, and the scanner works GREAT!!!! I personal throughts
are that the wia service is fighting with the hp director software for
control of the scanner. with the scanner not there, wia starts and then hp
director is waiting for the scanner, I guess.....all comments and suggestions
are welcomed, knowing is half the battle.........
