What is all the XP hotfix entries for? Updates?

Hi Robin,
Just to add a bit to Tom's response:
You do not need to keep those entries if you have no intention of
uninstalling the hotfix. To remove them, first open Windows Explorer to
C:\Windows, delete the corresponding $NtUninstallQxxxxxx$ folder (you must
have folder options/view set to see hidden and system files for this), where
"xxxxxx" represents the hotfix number.
Once the backup file is deleted, select the hotfix for removal under Add &
Remove in the Control Panel. You will get an error message, then an option
to remove the listing.
