everytime something goes wrong you get the "report to web
services" dialouge box--how can I disable this, it

Right click on "My Computer", then the Advanced tab, then click the =
button "Error Reporting", and select the radio button "Disable error =
reporting", and click Apply and OK as needed.

Ted missed a step: Right-click on "my Computer", select properties, then the
advanced tab, etc.....and this is fine, however there are two things to
consider here:

1) Microsoft uses this collected data identify issues, and to prioritize
which problems need to be worked on first (based largely on the volume of
error reports). By disabling it, you are opting not to participate in this
process of defining what issues need to be addressed. Of course, you DO
expect someone to try and resolve it, you just don't want to report
it........

2) You are avoiding addressing the real problem. Perhaps you should create a
new post and define what the problem itself is. Because if there is no
problem, then there is no need for error reporting to pop up at all.
