This indicates a problem with your user registry hive. The easiest way
to get this back is to run System Restore. If that doesn't work, create
a new account, logon, take ownership of your old profile folder, and
copy your documents and favorites and such out of your old profile into
your new profile. If this is something that has happened more than once,
you might want to get a registry backup tool like ERUNT to make
occasional snapshots of your user registry hive.
