View Full Version : Window XP compatability

Hope someone can help.

I get a blue stop screen at least once when my PC is running
(IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL). I understand that this means I have a
incompatibility error with Window XP and either a piece of hardware or
software. I've got some much stuff on the PC does anyone know of any (free)
software, or (easy way) to determine which bits are compatible and which are
not. Some of the software has been installed by other people.

Thanks for any help.

ATTENTION: Kadaitcha Man.We are using XP Pro and constantly getting error
message 0xc0000005, this is causing our program (third party software) to
close with possible data corruptions. I note that on your website you
address XP Home but not Pro - can u help please?

The article addresses an error in XP HE but error codes are the same for Pro
and Home.

You will need to do a bit more hunting to resolve your issue. Try this:

"How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility"
http://kadaitcha.ath.cx/troubleshoot.aspx#a

"How to Perform a Clean Boot"
"How to Perform Advanced Clean-Boot Troubleshooting"
http://kadaitcha.ath.cx/troubleshoot.aspx#k

"How to Read Memory Dump Files"
"View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer"

Geoff,

Please don't rely on KM's website for assistance. His sole purpose on these
groups is to promote his technically inaccurate 'help' site. I wouldn't rely
on it - or him - for any help or support.

You mean, like telling people your skewed facts about hard drive sizes =
change after installing Windows, as I see one here that know what he's =
talking about, finally put you in your place there? Kadaictha Man, or =
whoever he is, does seem pretty abrasive, but at least I haven't seen =
him post any bad advice.

Step 1- Read
Step 2-Think
Step 3-Post

You're batting .666 so far Cass.

If you bothered to read any of the articles on his website, even you might
see they more often than not point to MS Knowledge Base or Technet articles.
If what you say is correct, MS is at fault for any errors, omissions or
oversights, not the guy who collected, collated and organized them.

Before your next post, give your local Helly Hanson retailer a call and see
if they carry a Nomex jumpsuit in your size.

When have I ever said that? If someone asks, for example "I have lost 8/9 GB
on my 120GB hard drive. Why?" then I respond with the appropriate FACTS - I
even do the sums. I always double check my facts before I post - do you?

I think you misspelt "parachute". Maybe you actually meant "tent".

Relax. It was a joke that didn't work because it assumed too much.

Next time I'll not tell it, or I'll include a detailed explanation and add
pictures if any large words are used so people such as yourself can have a
chuckle with the rest of us.
