task shadow

Just purchased new computer with Windows XP. When I go
to turn it off I get the following message. "Yhe system
cannot end the selected task because shadow is not
allowing it to run. Press OK to end task shadow or
cancel to leave it running"
If I remove Screen Scenes from the task bar, I do not get
this message. On Windows 98 I did not have to do this.

So far as I can tell, "task shadow" is not a part of WinXP.

Where did you buy this computer? What brand is it? Task shadow may be
something installed by the OEM - or by your vendor. Have you asked the
vendor who sold the computer to you?
