Network Connection Fails on re-boot?

I have a persistent problem that is annoying me. I have a home network
setup that worked fine until I installed XP SP2. Now every time I reboot my
main PC ( the one that connects to the Internet) the network drops out. All
the connections appear to be in place but I cannot ping any of the other
computers on the network.

If I run the home network wizard again it rebuilds the connections and every
thing is fine. However, it is becoming a pain doing this every time I
reboot. The problem appears to lie with the network bridge which sends out
packets but fails to receive them. I thought it was a firewall issue, but
with then all turned off the problem still occurs.

I even completely uninstalled Norton Internet security as suggested, but
still the problem persists.

Any suggestion as to what I can try now?

I had a similar problem and the only fix to it was to assign static IP
addresses to client computers.
Your main PC should be OK, as the Network Wizard assigns an IP address
192.168.0.1 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on the LAN adapter that is
connected to the home network. For other PCs try to assign IP addresses from
the range 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.255 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on
the LAN adapter that is connected to the home network.

Thanks for the advice. Tried that but too no avail. The network still
fails on re-boot!
