On a Dell laptop running Windows XP Pro, when a user boots into WinXP,
s/he experineces a blanking of the LCD monitor for nearly half a second
or so. That blink, I suspect, is being caused by the nVidia driver but I
am not sure. Also, sometimes, the icons in the task bar (the ones right
beside the Start button) get random image icons but once I hide unhide
that taskbar the icons reappear with correct images. Whats going on
here? Where do I start to fix this blinking and wrong images for icons
problem?

Thanks,
->HS

PS: Apologies for the repeated post in hep_and_support

Use msconfig and uncheck the Nvidia desktop applet and the other Nvidia
helper applications and see if that helps.
