I do not know if I am having Virtual memory problems or explorer problems. I
was having a major system slowdown. I installed SP2 and the firewall detected
problems with my Virus checking software. I had Norton Anti-virus. I had also
installed spybot and new I had some major spy ware problems. I purchased
MacAfee anti virus and anti spy ware and installed it on the computer. It
removed a lot of viruses and spy ware. I am still experiencing slow
performance. It keeps coming up with low virtual memory. When I try to access
the internet explorer it gives me an error “IEhost could not be loaded” and
then the browser freezes up. I think I may have disabled the browser with the
spy ware cleaning program. Is there a way of reinstalling the browser without
doing a complete reinstall?

Dan,

sounds to me as if the installation is beyond hope. It was
apparently connected to the Internet without firewall.
