Turning off some of sp2 security features doesn't work

I'd like to turn off some of the new security features introduced in
sp2. Or maybe just back out of sp2 altogether.

I've been unable to turn off the pop-up-blocker info or sound. I've
followed the directions given in the info dialog. The help directs
you to clear the box [] related to info dialog.

I've done this repeatedly and saved. It changes nothing. The dialog
box itself can be stopped by checking the [x] `do not show again'. But
the bar itself continues to popup and the pop up blocking action
continues. Very annoying. But especially since following the
directions to turn it off has no effect.

Along this same vein. on IE Tools/internet../security Clicking
custom and then changing setting to `low' click ok and ok. Again it
has no effect. Next time I look there its reset to medium.

Any one have advice on this? Or can tell me how to back out of sp2.

Try this...(in Internet Explorer)

Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Settings (in popup section)> Clear both
check boxes
