When I go to download on something such as an *.Exe file internet explorer clears the screen and returns with a "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" message ( No File Download Dialog Box ) and sometimes the box appears but doesn't do anything then later closes
with an error message. This happens to everyfile that I try to download, I cannot re-install IE 6.0 for I cannot download the Installer... However Windows Update Seems to work just fine and so does AIM File Transfers, so I know this is related to IE 6.0.
Any advice would be great!

Some of the download links aren't written correctly and they will bring up
a page with the "cannot be displayed" message. Usually just ignoring those
is all that is needed and the usual Save/Open download dialog eventually
appears. If that is not happening for you, try backing up the browser to
the page with the link that brought up the error page. Then right click on
the same link and use Save As.
