Hi
I downloaded Windows Messenger 5.0 and after install I can no longer access
chat rooms through Windows Messenger - how can I get his function back????
thanks
Tab
Or ... is there something weird going on ...
I downloaded Windows Messenger 5.0 from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/messenger/default.asp
but the Windows Messenger Support Centre has never heard of it:

Upgrade to Windows Messenger 4.7 for Windows XP!
Windows Messenger 4.7 is the latest version for Windows XP. To determine
which version of Windows Messenger is running on your computer, on the Help
menu in Windows Messenger, click About Windows Messenger.

Hi Tab,
Windows Messenger 5 no longer has support for MSN Chat Rooms, this feature has moved to MSN
Messenger exclusively. To get the functionality back, you'll need to go back to Windows
Messenger 4.7 or install MSN Messenger 6.
If you want to go back to Windows Messenger 4.7, simply uninstall Windows Messenger 5 by
clicking Start, then Run, type (or copy/paste) the following:
msiexec.exe /x {ABEB838C-A1A7-4C5D-B7E1-8B4314B10138}
and then click OK.
Then, you can reinstall Windows Messenger 4.7 from here:

If you want to install MSN Messenger 6 instead, you can find it here:
