I disabled this program when I was using messenger 6.00 so as not to have
two version loaded in my notifications bar, but now I want to go back to
just version 5.00. My problem is that now I can't get it to start at all,
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it again but nothing seems to work.
Or if not is there a way to stop Outlook from trying to start Messenger
5.00, as I have a minute delay when Messenger 5.00 is disabled. Thanks in
advance.

Greetings Andrew,
You may have just completely disabled Windows Messenger in Windows XP (depending on your
method). To undo this, download and run both of the following .reg files:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablewindowsmessenger_user.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablemessenger.reg
After this, reboot and see if you can load Messenger.
