I currently have Windows XP Service Pack 1 installed on a P4 Dell Dimension
8100 Desktop with 128 MB RAM, 1.0 GHz.

Every time I install SP2 on the CD it gives me the following error. "ANS1
bad tag value met" adn terminates the installation.

I already scanned the computer with Adware Professional SE to remove
Spyware. I ran a virus scan on it using Trend and it removed BAT_SASSER.A.,
(Norton did not see it or find it)
Disabled Norton AntiVirus/Firewall (NIS Professional 2004), I started
Windows XP in selective mode with no Norton services running. I ran PC Doctor
on the Volume as well.

Any suggestions or ideas?

I would run one of the other sasser removal tools. You might have a later
version that Trend had not found.

Sasser (A-F) Worm Removal Tool (KB841720):
