View Full Version : Did SP2 Mess Up Autoplay?

I don't use autoplay much but I just noticed it isn't working. It always
did. I've checked the normal things and I appear to have everything set up
right. I restored the system back to Oct 15 and then it worked but I've
done so much since then I can't afford to leave it there so I returned to
now.
I'm wondering if there was something in SP2 which messed it up. Does anyone
know if that happened? If so, maybe we can expect a patch from Microsoft to
fix this.
By the way, there was an Autoplay Repair Wizard published 10/27/2003 but I'm
afraid to use it because it's so old. Does anyone know if it can still be
used effectively for someone who has XP with the SP2 update?
Thanks.

Some MSoft people have written an unofficial program to fix problems
with Autoplay. As such it is not on a Microsoft site, but it can be
found at Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe
