Messenger and DirectX

Back in spring, there was a problem with the latest versions of Windows
Messenger and DirectX running on the same (XP) machine. As a result, I
had to revert back to Messenger 4.7 and DirectX8.1, which work together
well.

Do the latest versions of both products work together now?

Yes, DirectX 9b works fine with Messenger.
