Hiya Jonathan,
This is one ya'll might not have seen before. Since I uninstalled
messenger when I
try to get started with the mail
in the mornings I get a "server could not be found" message. Thats in OE 6
When I try to click on IE to go to my home page I get the same message. I
have to
restart the computer to get on line. The computer is on all
night it does not sleep or anything like that. The screen saver is on for
the monitor, even the hard drives are running.
My other computer in the same room connects just fine, So I know the ISP is
up and running. The computers are not connected to each other.
New computer with XP Pro won't connect until I reboot it.
Oh by the way I am on a cable connection.
If you can help, please do. I am running XP Pro with all updates.

Thanks in advance
Bob

Greetings Bob,

Unusual -- how did you uninstall Messenger?

As a "quick fix", you might try using System Restore. To do so, click Start, then Help &
Support, then "Undo changes to my computer using System Restore" and then restore back to a
date when you didn't have the problem.
