Search Function - I hate it

I can't stand the Search client on XP. Is there an upgrade for this or are
there ways to improve its interface and capabilities?

There are lots of alternative search programs. One freeware
choice that a lot of people like is Agent Ransack. Personally I
use the search feature that comes with PowerDesk.
