View Full Version : Windows XP SP2 won't allow desktop to come up

I have Windows XP Professional SP2 installed and it worked for some time but
now it started showing blue screen with those STOP messages of physical
memory dump. Also now after using ADWARE professional scan now there is
another serious issue. Now after I pass the main login screen where it says
"Loading personal preferences" it starts loading up the desktop but after
that immediately it says "Closes Network Connection" and brings back to the
login screen but there is no way I could access the desktop.
Also I keep getting the stop messages more often when I am in mid of
something important so my guess is it is a Memory issue and have ordered a
pair of 256 MB (Total of 512 MB) and hope to get this resolved. But I could
be wrong.
Just need some expert advice in which direction I should head and give me
some tips or suggestions.
Thanks in Advance

What are the numbers on the blue STOP screen and what does it record as the
failing module?
You may also find this information recorded in the event viewer, which you
can locate by right-clicking My Computer and choosing Manage from the menu.

Your logon issue is probably related to:

Unable to Log On To Windows XP After Removing wsaupdater.exe
In addition to AdAware, I recommend running SpyBot Search and Destroy, =
as well. They will each catch things the other misses. =

Hello folks,
I finally found a work around to this issue. It was a malware called
BlazeFind and removing this using Adaware caused Logon Logoff loop. It has
been documented on LavaSoft Lavahelp Knowledgebase. Here is the link to this
solution which was a god send and saved my day:
http://www.winxptutor.com/wsaremove.htm
Thanks to all of you who helped. Please post this issue as it could save
somebody else's day.
