messenger not signing in

when i try to sign in it gives me the following message
we could not sign you in to msn messenger because
internet explorer is currently set to work offline.
Please change this setting on your browsers file menu
then try signing in again.

The thing is that my browser is no longer set to work
offline
so what shall i do?

Greetings Raúl,

You may have to turn the Work Offline option on, and then off again in Internet Explorer. To
do so, open an Internet Explorer window, click the File menu, then choose Work Offline, then
click the File menu again, and choose Work Offline again. Then finally, click the File menu
once more, but just verify that Work Offline is *not* checked (if it is, click it again).

Then try signing into Messenger.
