another question i always wanted to ask: why are file
transfers in msn soooo slow?

Greetings Mike,

File transfers will be slow if a direct connection between you and your contact can't be
established (either due to a non-UPnP NAT/router or firewall) then the file will go through
the Messenger server (in which case the transfer will be very very slow).
