I want to export all my messages so when i re-set up
windows on a different machine, i can import the messages
back into a fresh copy of Outlook Express 6.

The problem is when i select FILE -> EXPORT MESSAGES
it just does stuff....doesnt tell me what file its
exporting the messages to or where. Useless.

WHERE DOES IT EXPORT TO ???????????????????

It exports to Outlook. If you don't have outlook installed then it =
doesn't export anywhere.

Copy the whole folder somewhere. When you reinstall go Tool - Options - =
Maintenance - Store Folder and point to the folder you saved and it will =
ask do you want to use the folder as your OE message store.
