I am having a problem with the default browser and MSNM6 in Windows
XP SP1. Even tho Mozilla is my default browser, and I have disallowed
access to IE in the control panel, it still opens my Hotmail inbox in
IE. I am not happy with this and would like to force it to use Mozilla
- can anyone help out with this?

Greetings Tyler,

Unfortunately you cannot -- MSN Messenger uses Internet Explorer exclusively.

Thank you for the reply, but...what a nasty thing!!

I was under the impression that the DoJ ruling meant that MS was not
allowed to tie their products to their browser, media player, IM client,
email client or virtual machine?!? Would this not be a violation of
that ruling?

If true, then that factoid coupled with earlier versions of MSNm
being locked out of the network is a dirty trick, for sure... I hate
using IE - Mozilla's built in pop up blocker, ad/ISP blockers, and
tabbed browsing knock IE into a cocked hat. Argh....

Hi,

I'm not a legal expert by any means, nor have I actually read the DoJ actually rulings, so I
can't answer that.

I use Mozilla for some things myself, but it's still not up to par with everything Internet
Explorer has (in terms of 'flashy' DHTML effects *grin*).
