I use a laptop with wireless connection to an access point/DSL router. I
would like to use the XP firewall to assure the laptop can't be acessed
without invitation. What configuration settings should I use to maintain
communications with the access point, but not open it up to the world?

Thanks for any information.

The default settings in the firewall are probably enough. These allow
for LAN communication and connections back to a router without allowing
unwanted external traffic in. Does your router have a built in
firewall as many of them do? If so, consider whether you need the XP
firewall at all as the firewall at the router should block anything
that you don't want from even making to your laptop.
